DarkBlueEyeS The mission layed out by MAC15FLTCOM: Gather the best businesses, with the best designers and engineers, and give them a task.

Concept

One of the first campaigns at the MRC designed by, and ran by its participants, this game was to act as sort of a VF-X competition for various teams that signed up to become a part of the action. The rules are simple:

  • All groups will be alocated webspace that they MUST use for there companies/design groups. This will count for a percentage of the judging.
  • Any images or text that needs to be copyrighted by other agencies or groups that is posted on MRC webhosting must agree to license the material to the MRC for use in the campaign, and historical documents.

Other then that, its all about making the best design!

About DBES

The Design Bureau – Experimental Systems Program has recently been authorized by the UN Spacy for limited trial by Macross 15 Fleet Command. This program is on a probationary watch, and future funding for the program is entirely dependent on the program’s ability to provide satisfactory results. Mission success of the experimental craft is NOT the primary goal. The DBES Program only wishes accurate, detailed combat performance data on theoretical future procurement technologies. The design teams must actively strive to produce innovative, and fresh designs. Teams are encouraged to actively participate in the total design process. What makes or breaks the Teams is the success of the PROGRAM. This is not a competition to see who is better, but simply to learn what designs will work best for the UN military. By learning what does not work well puts us one step closer to what will. After the initial design portion, teams are encouraged to make suggestions to the competing design. Everyone must remember that we are professionals in design, and our colleagues are as well trained as we are. Take criticism CONSTRUCTIVELY. We can’t afford to have thin skins here.

The DBES Program patch is A red circle with a white nova star displayed, and the letters quartered. This alludes to the predecessor NOVA programs that serve as our inspiration. The white on red is also suggestive of the UN kite, the shield that defends humanity. The Triangle in nova is indicative of the program assignment to an Einstein Vessel, as well as the symbol for change. The ‘Macross 15’ and ‘Program’ ribbons serve as identification, although the Program ribbon is replaced in wear by the Team name. -ColdFire

The Objective

Bear in mind this is a VIRTUAL design program. No mecha will be produced or procured by the UN Spacy. It is a COMPARATIVE exercise, NOT a competition, per se. The UN Spacy will not endorse any mecha being rated, only provide relative performance data. No statistics created for Mecha are endorsed by or will be used for MRC.

The final authority is User:Lanji. MRC members, we must defer to his judgment, as his mecha statistics are canon for this campaign.

All groups will be alocated webspace that they MUST use for there companies/design groups. This will count for a percentage of the judging.

The Program Requirement Supervisor states mission profile and any specific design requirements for the test.

Teams have one month to submit designs from when the requirements are posted.

No UN Spacy REVEIWING staff are allowed to submit mecha for that test.

Two Original Macross inspired designs can be submitted for reveiw per team.

An ORIGINAL graphic representation of the Mecha is required.

Any mecha or vehicle for Macross may be submitted for performance reveiw in a non-comparative test.

Team submitted Mecha are team efforts, and are the property of all the members. Credit for creation is equal, though specific credit will be listed in the design. Individual mecha can be entered with the group's okay, and will be noted as such.

A Relative performance comparison will be conducted on the designs, and results publicly released to all design teams.

NO god mecha... Realistic combat levels are desired for comparitive accuracy and playability.

Avoid mission profiles already in use, as we are trying to create mecha that address mission requirements that have not been already filled.

If submitting modernized versions of old mecha, there must be substatntial, fundamental differences in design aspects.

Variable mecha preferred (Of course... ).
