Robotech anyone - A new Campaign by Sabre's Shadow Works

Post by Sabre »

I'm trying to determine if there is an interest in playing a Robotech game. What I'm asking if players who are interested, please participate in this poll as to what generation you'd like to play in.

This poll is for me to guage the interest of the prospective players, it's not necessarily the deciding factor on which generation I do run. I myself am leaning toward an Invid Invasion campaign.

I cast the first vote with Invid Invasion. Why? Because its the campaign that offers the most flexibility as to the types of mecha and personnel that could be available.

I've most of the books as well-I don't have Lancer's Rockers but my brother did (I didn't much care for it)-, somewhere. I'd be interested in playing as well.

I voted for the Invid game.

As you know, I am a die-hard Sabre-holic. If he builds it, I will come. If he runs it, I will game.

Guess I have to do a research of the events and happenings around Mospeda and the Invid first before I can even make a vote. :P

It's been awhile since I've played anything on the MRC; however, I've got time to play a game. I like the invid invasion idea because it will be more flexible.

Seeing some of the names here shot my interest through the roof. There is alot of interest on the part of many veterans and MIAs and I'd love to be a part of it. Given the caliber of respondents, this story should be incredible.

Well I must admit I actually don't know much about Robotech (means that I've seen only Macross) and I have no idea what changes to the usual Macross game, but my veteran char is standing there in the void waiting ( no idea what happened to the GM of the Top Hatters :/ didn't hear from him in a wile) , so if you guys accept a Robotech newbie in your ranks I'd love to play whit you (no problem for me to make up a new char too).

As Rannilas said, the names on this thread seams really promising for a really high quality game :)

I won't vote on what generation since as I said I've no idea, but I tend for the more flexible one.

OK, I'm going to start posting some gaming supplements, templates tools etc this weekend. This will give you (the players) a bit more of an outline as to what I am looking for.

OK, I'm revising my house rule that stated mecha don't give additional attacks. I'm eliminating that rule in fact. The two character sheets, I've posted will be adjusted.

I was rethinking about the 'hive' mentality, how I was planning on playing each individual 'caste' of Invid with different mindsets to reflect their different stages of evolution. The sheer numbers you will be facing gave me pause to not set out to make this too difficult right at the very start.

I already run a tough enough game.

Looks like I'll need to ditch any Alpha or Beta I might get and run the cyclone on gasoline, or find a spare hover tank.

Rank modifications are in progress. Specifically commission REF officers. I'm having one ranking PC a senior grade Lieutenant probably (Cobalt) and other characters will be junior commisioned ranks and non-comms

Panaka, this will make your character's starting rank an Ensign. Changes will be made to the character sheet later today or this evening.
