D&D Notice
Ill Met In Waterdeep
Starting at level 1 in the city of Waterdeep, the players will be caught up in the intrigues of the city and the surrounding area. It will start as a localized campaign and grow into larger concerns as the characters advance in level.
I am looking for a balanced party.
Fighter or Barbarian
Rogue or Bard
Cleric or Paladin
Wizard or Warlock
This will not be done as first come, first serve. It's not fair to do it based on who saw the message first. I want character proposals from the players for at least 2 classes. The proposals can he very simple.
Example
1 - Female Dragonborne bard. She wants to be famous and is looking for an adventurer to immortalize in prose.
2 - Half-Orc Paladin of Sune, the Goddess of Beauty. He is a paragon of virtue but is also militantly promiscuous because his Goddess, naturally.

Re: The Sad State of Cobalt
1) Human Fighter - Polearm Specialist. Dreams of being a noble's personal knight
2) Tiefling Sorcerer - Divine Soul. Because a demon with angel blood is amusing? Us angels are all about peace and love.
I was thinking an adolescent pet master with a skunk, but looking over the books, I don't think that there are any Level 1 Pet Classes anymore. 5e took out a lot of the fun stuff. No more Star Magic, or Astrology Magic. Wild Magic was last fun in AD&D 2e.

Re: D&D Notice
1) Human Paladin - A young paladin eager to put their years of training and study to the test.
2) Elf Warlock - Raised a noble girl, she had been shunned by her house and has been forced to turn to adventuring to earn a living. Luckily for her, she has a patron who has a use for a girl such as herself.
High level concepts for both ideals I have.

Re: D&D Notice
All the proposals look great. I'm gonna wait to see what the other players propose before we move to the next stage.

Re: D&D Notice
Here is an idea:
A Sealed Goddess. Overthrown during the ancient times, her seal was recently broken by dungeon delvers stumbling upon her tomb. Since it has been a hundred millennia and she doesn't have any worshipers, her power level has dropped to that of regular people. Now, she has to regain her lost power so that she can get vengeance on those that cast her out (or their descendants if it was an adventurer party). Probably both arrogant because she is/was an all-powerful entity and easily frustrated because she can't do anything that used to be super simple.
Aasimar race would probably make the most sense, but could be any; really any Class depending on what kind of goddess she was. Just for fun, the group can vote as to what class she gets at each level-up to represent her regaining a portion of her lost power. She could also serve as the patron for a cleric or warlock in the group, if someone wants to choose her.

Re: D&D Notice
I figured that would be the case, but it never hurts to ask.
Do you accept sub-classes from the Ravnica book? It has Spore Druid. Literally Magic Mushrooms.

Re: D&D Notice
I don't think I picked up the subclasses from Ravnica on Beyond. Let me check and I'll get back to you. I have Thoros but I may have only picked up the race bundle from Ravnica.

Re: D&D Notice
It is not a big deal either way. I just saw it while skimming through Core books. It is all about using fugal spores as either attacks or symbiotically fusing with them. Just seems kind of nasty and fun.
Re: D&D Notice
1) Fighter - Eldritch Knight (Can I be a human and be an eldritch knight?)
2) Rogue - Already have one rolled, never used her (Magpie), but she would not be my first choice.

Go ahead and start working on the following proposals.
Kosh - Elf Warlock
Inferno - Human Fighter | Polearm Specialist
Sabre - Fighter | Eldritch Knight (Can be any race)

Re: D&D Notice
I am still looking through books to find different subclasses. I found the Wildemount book today. It has some fun ones in it.
Echo Knight: Fighter subclass; It is about calling Yourself from alternate timelines. Basically, for all of your actions, reactions, and whatnot, you can choose which you performs them. They can also take actions in addition to your own, but only as many per day as your Constitution bonus.
Graviturgist: Wizard subclass; Gravity Mage. Weight change (one half or doubled for creatures), altering mass of weapons so that they hit harder, decrease fall effects, gravitational sheering
Chronurgist: Wizard subclass; Straight-Up Time Mage. Forcing the occasional rerolls for enemies or allies (kinda like the Diviner's ability), altering your own initiative roll, stasis, freezing your own spells in time and you can pass them out like items.
Plus the adding gravity and time spells to the spell lists.
Next character, I am totally shooting for the time mage.

Didn't say that you were.
Re: D&D Notice
Just mentioned in case you were thinking of taking Echo Knight or any other Wildemount subclasses for this game.

Re: D&D Notice
I fully intend to give the time mage a go. This is not the only gaming site that I am on, though. I play a wide variety of characters in other groups.
I have got a prim and proper necromancer, school teacher, a ghost that haunts her ex, a time cop. I have an immortal uber glass cannon Summoner; she can call forth any one of a massive array of beasts, but she only has 1 HP, so she dies in a single hit and can't come back until after a short rest.
I am currently working a Goddess Of The Rave. There are goddesses for everything, so why not raves, right? The Goddess Of Song And Melody does not like her because she thinks the Rave Goddess is loud and obnoxious.

Re: D&D Notice
Indeed. Yours is the super tame group.
Re: D&D Notice
Due to the nature of the introduction, game play will not begin until all the characters are complete.
