Earthquake in Los Angeles

Post by Cobalt »

We're okay.

It was a 5.0 and it shook us up real bad but there's nothing broken, no one is hurt, and we still have power and water. Our apartment looks like a disaster zone but that is because we had to take all the models and figures off the shelves and all the swords off the walls.

Just heard about this on the news over here. It's good to know that you and Bleu are okay, Cobalt.

By the way, swords on thewalls? Are you two scared of Gremlins or something? ;)

Zombies.

It is a well known fact that, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, swords are the weapon of choice as they do not jam nor do they require ammunition. =)

As the good book says "Blades don't need reloading" - Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. If you don't have it you're a happy meal on legs for the undead.

Glad everyone is ok though, thanks for posting up.

I'm glad to hear you are both okay man. I had no idea there was an Earthquake down south. When did this happen? I suppose it doesn't matter in the end, all that matters is you are both safe and well.

It hit at 8:39 PM. Rattled on for about 15 to 20 seconds (which felt like an eternity when the apartment is shaking around you) and we haven't had any aftershocks worth mentioning.

Oh, and Genji, be advised that shotguns jam and require ammunition, thus, are not weapons of choice in a zombie apocalypse.

I would suggest a stable, gladius-style sword or a nice hacking weapon, like a machete.

For more information, please see:

Danger: Zombies (Part 3)

But, back on track... Good to hear you and Vonni are well Wayne. If you need anything, just give me a call.

We have a glut of katanas and two broadswords (both LoTR swords but conventon forged with fighting blades). We also have an assortment of knives, some shorter straight edged blades (very stable and sturdy), and a few clubs. My next buy is probably going to be a morning star (thank you, Deadliest Warrior).

And thanks, Nat. =)

We knew that a lot of people would be worried if we didn't post that we were okay. Thanks for the love and we're sending love right back at ya and to the big guy and the little guy, too.

Well, we also have two ForceFX lightsabers. Does that dim down the scary part?

Well, the truth is that the earthquake caused us to mess it up but did not do it itself. We had to take everything down so the mess is man made. Sadly. But earthquake caused, so that makes me feel better.

Okay, it's official. It seems that there is some delay between the time the announcement/player type of posts are loaded up into the board, and the time at which they show up whenever I log into the site.

...perhaps it's evidence as to the possibility of creating a time distortion (even if unwillingly)? ;D

Anyways, I'm glad to hear that you two are okay and that there was no mess aside from the one made by the possibility of being an aftershock. ^^

Cheers!

- A.

Well, we had an aftershock yesterday that was almsot as big as the initial shock. No damage. But we're not putting the stuff back up on the walls just yet. =(
