Special Space Services, known as the SSS in some circles started as independent units of the UN Spacy that were called upon to perform tasks well outside of the jurisdiction and rules of the UNG. Tasks that needed to be done yet due to their nature were carried out in complete secrecy in order for the UNG’s political arm of UN Spacy to have ‘plausible deniability’ should any of the assigned missions suffer a security breech and become public knowledge.

Because of this special extra-jurisdictional prerogative, the SSS has gained a great deal of fame and infamy in the back channels of UN Spacy Military circles. More then 90% of the SSS units currently in existence are considered unofficial and/or illegal. Rogue elements with SSS level hardware and software have started appearing, which is beginning to concern various elements of the UNG government. So much so that known Commanding Officers of these units are now being re-assigned outside of their current work areas to try and close these units down.
