Procedure Policy

1. All pages should be linked back to at least one Category, of not multiple categories 2. All pages are required to have the {{Header}} template, as outlined in the first part of the Technical Policy 3. New pages should be created with care, taking into account the future growth of the MRCWiki

Technical Policy

The MRCWiki is meant to be an open project that allows GM's, Staff Members and anyone else that wishes to help add documentation to the MRC, and Macross world that we play in. But because there are times that we must figure out were a piece of information belongs in the world of data we are placing online, there are currently three templates created to help with all page designs.

The first template is the Header template, that adds the text that you can see above in the dashed box, with links to the main parts of the Wiki, and links back to the homepage and boards.

It is extremely easy to add this template to your page, by adding the following text at the top of the page.

{{Header}}

The Header template is REQUIRED on ALL pages in the MRC Wiki.

  • In a change in policy for the MRCDoc's website, please use only the offical header. Secondary derivative headers or alternative headers are no longer allowed.

Second is the Created template. This template allows you to add a small red dashed line box on the right hand side of the page, with information on who created the "information" of the page, and who is "maintaining" the page.

This means on offical Macross related materials, the "Creator" should be listed as Macross Canon. On fan based materials the Creator can be an individual GM, or group of GM's or even someone else outside of the MRC.

To add this template to your page, type the following near the top (but after the Header template):

{{Created|Name of Creator|Name of Maintainer}}

It should be noted that the "Name of Creator" and "Name of Maintainer" from above can be Wiki Links such as this example:

{{Created|[[User:Lanji|Lanji]]|[http://www.macrossrpg.com/comms/groupcp.php?g=584 EITD Web Management Group]}}
This shows up as:
Created by: Lanji
Maintained by: {{{2}}}

Third is the Rules template, which allows anyone to place the rules that the page is ment to be ran under. This type of template is primarily created for resources like the Units Pages, and some of the Stats Pages.

To add this template to your page type the following near the top of the page (but after the Header and Created templates):

{{Rules|Text about the rules...}}

Once again you can use a Wiki Link insead of the the bland line "text about the rules..."

This template shows up as:
The following rules and statistics are in use:
Custom IRC Rules, that will be added to this page soon.
