Accountant

(Min IQ12. 2 years training. Starting age: 20.)

Accountants are jokingly referred to across known space as the most boring people alive, however this is an incorrect stereotype for most of them. Accountants earn high wages, and young accountants commonly use this to lead exciting and fun packed lives. All accountants are paid to keep secrets. Some of those secrets, and their secretive activities, are less morally correct then others.

Often overlooked, but an essential part of all businesses. Administrators makeup the bulk of most companies and are the gears that keep them working efficiently. Without the paperwork being done, phones being answered and sundry other office jobs being completed, most companies would grind to a halt. Most office administrators, be they doing simple data entry work, or the personal assistant to the president of a company, receive most of their training on the job, learning as they go. There are specialty schools set up to educate office administrators, but it is not a requirement to the job.

Miners will specialize in one area normally, although it is common for those who have been miners for a significant period of time to train in both earth and space based mining techniques. The more intelligent of those who wish to become a miner will go to university and learn mining engineering. The will commonly do anything to get ‘the shot,’ as their careers may depend on it. Some of the more unscrupulous are commonly referred to in the derogatory as ‘the Paparazzi’ – basically those that follow celebrities anywhere, even to the point of intrusion and bending the law, to get any photo. Not all photojournalists are without scruples. Some become famous for their capturing of emotions on planetary or galactic leaders, and others are the heroic, and always risk taking war correspondent – bring your own life insurance. All photojournalists are skilled in journalism – they simply prefer to tell the story in pictures, not words. Note for players choosing the war correspondent role: as long as the photojournalist wields only a camera and film, they are considered noncombatants (by the majority of human opponents in the known galaxy.) Pilot (Aircraft/Helicopter)

(Min PP9, 2 years training. Starting age: 20.)

Aircraft pilots are trained to pilot everything from small crop-dusting airplanes to large passenger jumbo jets (Airbus A380, etc..) Some of the pilots in this line of business are former military pilots that have outgrown the need to risk their life, but not the need to fly. All of these pilots are trained in helicopter piloting as well to maximize their employability in the civilian sector. The constant progression of avionics and trend towards ‘hands free’ handling of aircraft has eased the burden on pilots and increased cross compatibility between different types of aircraft. The majority of these pilots will be able to pilot a VF – in jet mode only – in an atmosphere. Without training in piloting fighter aircraft and using weapon systems, they will be completely inept at combat. The usual work that a PI (Private Investigator) receives is divorce or infidelity investigations, which require photographic evidence. A PI must know the local law to know what he can and can't do legally in the pursuit of the investigation. However, most PIs bend the law as much as they can get away with. They can become living legends during their careers due to their ability to sing, or compose lyrics and music. There are generally two types of singers: homegrown and discovered. Homegrown singers grew up with the desire to sing. These singers keep going no matter how bad and bleak their singing career becomes. Those that are discovered almost always have others who compose their music. Homegrown singers tend to have long-term careers, and slowly gain popularity.
