How's it going? (Should it be long time, no post?)

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up that the latest Macross Game, "Macross 30 ~the singing voice that resounds in the galaxy~" is coming out in about a week's time for the PS3.

HP: http://b.bngi-channel.jp/macross30/

There's a new Valkyrie created specifically for the game: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/ ... /YF-30.php

Details are still extremely limited on it. The only things that are clear are that it is not a descendent of the YF-24 Evolution family (VF-25, VF-27, YF-29), and that the brick on the back is a multi-weapon bay. Other than a micro-missile launcher (which seems to be standard), it can also house a beam weapon or something in that brick.

Macross Chronicle Revised Ed. has started being published. It's a weekly revised and expanded version of the original.
Intro HP: http://deagostini.jp/site/mcr/pretop/in ... _til_02130
Product HP (updated weekly): http://deagostini.jp/mcr/

It's also being translated into English by your's truly. See here for details: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCindex.php

And don't forget to check out the Macross 30th Anniversary Project HP, especially for info on upcoming products: http://macross30.com/

Nice to hear from you, too.

If memory serves, weren't you the member that made the insightful observation a few years back along the lines that VFs weren't very tactical as the newer Macross series weren't showing them carrying large missiles and bombs?

Notwithstanding the appearance of such things in MF, last week I translated something* that actually gives an in-universe reason for that: aside from the increased performance of the smaller missiles, the VFs were envisioned to be deployed with unmanned fighter craft and missile ships that carried those kinds of things.

Alas, there's nothing further, but it is heartening that at some level, the creators of Macross have addressed your observations.

As my previous host was mucking around, I've had to change hosts (see links in first post). Hopefully the new one will last longer than a year.

Anyhow, Macross 30th Anniversary News:

Macross The Museum

If any of you are planning on being in the Osaka area before 2013.10.28, I recommend checking it out - especially because you get the chance to sit in a VF-1 cockpit!

Here's someone's photo-blog on it: http://larutomo.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/ ... -muse.html (scroll down past the food for the exhibit proper)

The Macross Museum VF-1 exhibit was never in Akiba.

Perhaps you're thinking about the 1:1 VF-25?
