Campaign Announcement: Firefight

This is from the GoogleWave Testing Thread:

Now to just recruit some players.

SO.... Limited time only campaign (through Feb. 15th), comes with a free Google Wave Account (I have 28 invites left right now). (Ed: Extended to Feb 15th because no one wanted to signup on the main board... :( )

Campaign: Firefight

The Captain has been left with little or no choice. With your backs against an expanding sun straining to go SuperNova, he escaped to the closest cover he could find, the abandoned astroid belt of a dyeing star system. In front of you, a fleet of unknown baddies that seem to hope you'll stay in one place long enough to either get ate by the star, or line up in their sights. Your resources? VF-25's that are older then dirt, a half dead stealth destroyer, and a pair of pissed off twins with bright green hair who go through way too many missiles.

Either fight through the fire, or die. You're most likely going to die.

What I need:

- An Email Address you want your Google Wave Invite sent to
- The name of a throw-away character
- Your desire to test out something new knowing that your GM is in the middle of the 4th quarter retail website madness, and has a tendency to roll up camp and depart in the middle of the night

BTW, did I mention this will be the first campaign outside of the ill fated "From Ruin" campaign I've tried running last year? I hope Dicebot is rolling 20's for everyone...

Wow, just saw that this post had over 100 views and no participation. Just a general vote of no confidence for Google Wave, the short campaign length or the proposed GM?

For me, it was a combination of Google Wave and the campaign type. I don't generally enjoy meat grinders or disposable characters. As for Google Wave, I don't have the time for a live campaign on the internet.

No idea what Google Wave is, so can't really say whether I would want to do it.

Hmmm Interesting. Just so I can make sure, are folks here assuming that Google Wave is only real time?

That is what I thought.

aww... misconceptions... foiled again!

wave is as real-time as any forum or email is, except that if you happen to be viewing it at the time, you can see what's being written.

Yep, hype and non-communication got us.

I'll think it through again Xuric and come up with a better campaign model to test with anyway. Need to make it through the 15th of this month first though (spring camp-o-ree).
