Oh, I will. Got my 3rd shot about a month ago, and I’ll be wearing a mask. PAX is much more strict about that stuff.

I have friends who went to and worked at AnimeNYC. They were not strict about enforcing their mask policy and their vaccination check-in was kind of a joke.

Will you be wearing the mask while stuffing your face the cheesecake?

No, but the steaming hot meat, cheese and onions will prevent any covid from entering my mouth or nose.

All of that steam will just make Warmvid instead of Covid.

Driving up to Boston for PAX East early tomorrow. First East in two years! We just managed to slip 2020 in before Lockdown.

I may not be able to reply as quickly during the show, but I will be checking the boards.

PAX East was busier this year than I expected. Had fun, collected some special Pinny Pins, got some good food with friends and averaged around 18,000 steps a day from Wednesday through Sunday. So, I’m a bit tired and sore, but I’m gonna try and get back into the games today.

There’s actually a cosplayer with a medical badge that comes to PAX and she designs her costumes around her segway/mobility device.

And we do have Enforcers who are handicapped as well, even in Expo.

It's that time of the year. PAX Unplugged time. Gonna be in Philadelphia until Monday, working the Expo floor, goofing around and stuffing my face with delicious food. (I call it FatPAX for a reason).

It's also pretty chill though, so I should have time to post replies, but just a heads up if they're a bit delayed.

Been kind of lax keeping this updated, but I'm headed up to Boston tomorrow to work another PAX East.

And for the first time in years, I'm actually unassigned, which means I won't have to be there quite as early (which is why I'm still up) and won't have to check in with individual exhibitors, so I should have more downtime, but then again, unassigned are like a rapid response force, sent to plug holes with bodies as needed, so who knows.

I'll try and post if shenanigans allow, but I'll definitely be back home next Monday afternoon/evening.

This weekend it’s “Mister Gerhard Goes to Washington.” or maybe it’s “PAX invades Otakon.”

I’m down in Washington DC, helping my friend out with his department at Otakon. I’ll mostly be at a desk helping people with badge issues (when I’m not stuffing my face), so I’ll be checking in, but might not respond right away.

Sorry for not getting to the DnD game over the weekend. My laptop decided to conveniently forget the boot drive Saturday night and I spent most of Sunday trying to repair it. Finally said fuck it and after backing up some files overnight, I’m doing a fresh install now. So now that I’m done pulling my hair (not that there is much left) I should be able to concentrate on my post.

Well, while I didn’t find a solution to fixing my boot drive, one of the tech videos did point me to a recovery “CD” that you can run from a USB, and it’s basically got a lite version of win 10/11, and that let me access the C: drive, even if I couldn’t boot from it. So I grabbed everything that I needed too, or so I thought.

Realized I forgot my bookmarks, but I think my browser stores them in the cloud (so the mobile version can sync with the desktop). And all my writing, I do on a cloud based app so all of that is safe.

In case anyone needs it, this was what I used to be able to pull my files.

Now that Thanksgiving is over it’s officially that time of the year… PAXmas!

I’m heading down to Philadelphia tomorrow for PAX Unplugged (it’s later this year due to venue scheduling), but UP is pretty chill, so I think I’ll have time for posting. I will be back home Monday.

Also, if anyone is interested in me picking up something for them, let me know. UP is focused on tabletop gaming of all types (hence Unplugged) vs the mostly video game focus of the other PAXs.

And if you like pins…
