Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
As you may have noticed, Photobucket has decided I am no longer allowed to use 3rd party hosting. Photobucket wants $400.00 a year for the privilege of no ads and 3rd party hosting.
$400.00
Let that sink in for a moment.
Now, I suppose I could rehost everything in my dropbox but that is going to be a lot of hours to get my game up and running again. I do not have a lot of free time these days and, if I am being entirely honest, this is just one more thing that is keeping me from getting my posting done. I will be trying to get this all put back together with my dropbox but this is going to take time.

Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
They are doing that with everyone. I have a ton of images on my RP site to deal with as well. And I just finished uploading them to Photobucket not that long ago. Wasn't fun. Now that I have to find somewhere else to move them. I know that Flickr is free up to 1 TB of storage. Maybe I will go there.

Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
I took to using https://vgy.me I find it quick and easy since you don't have to upload your images individually.
Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
I have some space available, I could do some of your hosting in a pinch.
Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
Another avenue is simply imgur. You can upload an image without submitting it to the public and simply link to the image directly like you would with photobucket. A lot of forums go this route for user signatures/avatars.

someone will have to teach me how to utilize new methods

Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
You just upload an image to wherever. I use https://vgy.me/ as listed above. Click on the big, blue upload cirlce, select the image that I want to upload from my computer when prompted to do so.
Then copy the image's address. When you want your image to show up here, paste the address between
[ img ] [ / img ]
without any spaces.
As an example, here is my Stormy's character image:
You can press the quote button over here in the corner to see the format in practice.

Yeah, it is the same as before. You just have to use a host other than photobucket.

Re: The State of the Cobalt Address
Or give Photobucket the $400 a year that they want. Then you won't even have to change image addresses.
