New Campaign - Mass Effect
I am starting a Mass Effect campaign. It is a mercenary / civilian game, set in the universe during the ME2 timeframe. Please respond on this thread if you are interested.
Below is a synopsis of where the game will start.
In the aftermath of the Geth assault on the Citadel, the political structure of the galaxy shifted. Humanity ascended to a position of power. The Systems Alliance Fleet assumed a majority of patrol duties around the Citadel, to compensate for the massive losses the Asari, Turian, and Salarian fleets suffered when Sovereign and the Geth fleet attacked. Citadel Security (CSec) hired human recruits en masse to fill their depleted ranks and the sudden predominance of humans on the Citadel has left many of the other Citadel signatory species both resentful of and concerned by the sudden increase in the human presence.
Commander Shepard, the first human SpecTRe and the human that single-handedly uncovered the Geth threat, has returned from a widely-reported death and has become active in the Terminus systems and around the edges of Citadel space. While the Citadel Council remains tight-lipped about the Commander's activities and whereabouts, the Commander's sudden emergence into the spotlight has raised uncomfortable questions about the nature of the Geth assault on the Citadel two years ago, the true motivations of the traitorous SpecTRe Saren Arterius, and Commander Shepard’s current loyalties.
The ripple effect of the stones Commander Shepard has thrown into the galactic pond ripple outward, so profoundly that they affect the most unlikely group of individuals.

Name: Abel Moreau
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Homeworld: Elysium
Age: 35
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 6’ 0”
Weight: 185 lbs.
Brief Physical Description: Abel is a slim and physically fit young man. He has shoulder length brown hair that is swept back from his face revealing his brilliant blue eyes.
Attitude: Abel is a Biotic and feels that the rest of humanity looks on him as a monster. He is open-minded to other races and in his mind feels other humans are always staring at him.
Affiliation: Skyride
Branch of Service: Former Alliance Naval Officer (L2 Biotic)
Position: Gunhand
Personal Connections:
Background: Abel was born on Elysium in one of the Human Colonies and once he had reached his teen aged years, was approached by representatives from Conatix Industries. During her pregnancy, Abel’s mom was exposed to element zero and he had shown signs of developing biotic abilities. He was then relocated to Jump Zero, the Alliance’s research facility. He was inducted into the BAaT Program (Biotic Acclimation and Temperance Training) where he was taught how to develop and use the latent biotic abilities for the betterment of the human race.
During his time on Jump Zero, Abel went through the process of being fit with L2 implants and was told that they would allow him to become a powerful biotic. The instructors told him those with L2s would go on to military careers and be revered by the other races as their biotics would rival those of the Asari. That was all that was needed for Abel to overlook the newly developed pain and discomfort he had developed. When he overused his abilities, Abel would suffer from migraines and nose bleeds that were extremely painful and would lessen his ability to perform his duties.
After a few years, Abel learned to endure the pain and became one of the station’s pride and joy and when the event arose with Kaiden Alenko and Vyrnuus that eventually lead to the program’s demise, he was on his way to joining the Alliance military. Abel learned that his parents were killed during the Skyllian Blitz where the Batarians invaded the colony. This event and the ending of the BAaT Program lead him to join the Alliance Navy where he was stationed on a vessel called the Endeavor.
Abel was a Lieutenant when the Reaper and Saren attacked the Citadel and his ship was one that managed to break through and dock at the station. His unit was deployed to assist the citizens with evacuation procedures and to assist with the Geth that were moving about. He was present when the attack was quelled and when he heard that the Reaper threat was filed away and that the Alliance didn’t take Shepherd seriously, this gave him doubt in the military he was serving. When his time came up, he refrained from re-signing and went his own way.
Abel decided that he needed to find a way to safely upgrade or remove his implants and travelled to Illium. He submitted himself to an Asarii study and underwent research that lead to nothing rewarding. He was stuck until he could find a surgeon that was competent enough to not kill him or turn his mind to mush. So he needed to find work to survive and finance his implant needs. He took a job as a bouncer in the bar and took freelance jobs under the table. He was beginning to make a name for himself when he meets Camden Savage in the bar and he offered him a job that he could not refuse.

After a quick trip on a ship for his mother's work, he was hooked. from that day forward he did everything he could to learn to fly. He tried to enter the military, but he was late sprouter and the recruiter denied him. It wasn't until years later that he managed to get his own work on various smuggling missions for the various mercenary groups that he finally got his chance.
He found that he had a knack for piloting and loved it. He eventually garnered a reputation as a pilot for hire who could get the job done. At the age of 20 he finally managed to get hired by a reputable company, but they laid him off after only 6 months. Despite all his efforts, he has continually been forced back to Omega where trhe only life he's ever truly known has been waiting for him.

- Siblings: None
- Turn Ons: Wit, playful banter, A girl who can get her hands dirty.
- Turn Offs: Corporate suits, politicans, taking life too seriously.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
