New Movie

Postby InfernosCaress » Wed Sep 26, 2018 12:11 pm

If you hadn't heard, a new movie was announced. It is still following the Delta crew but is apparently unrelated to the events of the series. Not surprising, really, since they kind of ended the series storyline in the first film.

Help a brother out here, Macross Delta was what, a 26 ep series right? So I watched all that but then you saying there was a movie that concluded that story arc? Do you have the name for that

Also you said first film? How many have we had? Was any of them the re-cut of the show that just told the same story with a few new scenes?

I was never a massive Delta fan, but given the way the series ended, I would like to see how it played out.

So far there has only been one Delta film, Gekijou no Walkure (Passionate Walkure). The Blu-Ray with its official subs come out last month. It was a retelling of the series. It ends at the same place. About half of the movie's footage came from the series, but what came from there was changed.

As examples: characters may have different outfits in some scenes. The battle at the end of the first tv episode was put in the middle of the film with Hayate's 171 changed to the 31. The Valkyrie battles are not just flying in loops, anymore. They more or less ditched the love triangle, changing it to Mirage having a little crush that she doesn't particularly have any interest in pursuing.

The movie was not bad. It went the opposite route of the series, feeling too rushed as opposed to being too drawn out. It does have sort of a 'we want more hentai fanart' vibe to it, though.
