It was six years today that the MRC was officially created, and the plan for bringing the world the best possible Macross Roleplaying was born.

It has been an interesting six years, with many ups, and just as many downs. I've personally seen my fair share of weird things on the various boards the MRC has used, and since this is as good of time as any, feel free to post a few of your favoriate MRC memories, in character and/or out.

Fat pilots, cheep sinks, and a Convention Center Brawl... What happens when people Self-GM

This is one of my favorate incidents, because I just happened to be GMing. We had a pilot who was attending the first Convention Center Thread (on the originaly multi-thread cgi boards no less), who decided he was hot and sweety.

So he went into the bathroom. Then he posted that while he was leaning on the sink, it broke! And all of the sudden the room was getting drenched, and out he stumbles, nearly creating a fight...

Needless to say, the poor guy was sent on his way by the GM's favorate helper, half a dozen police officers quietly removing the player from the thread...

OH, and he went on a diet too... (Can you say, post your 1000 pushups in groups of 10 damnit!)

Muse Gilliard, first combat run

When I started playing Muse, I destinctly remember that I was WAY in over my head. It was way back in the day, and of course Sabre was putting us through our paces in one of those secret training sessions, full of live ammo.

While I remember we went on for quite a while, I also remember I tired to post this strange manouvor where I changed into Gerwalk, and let the (then) Colonel fly by me while I changed back into figher mode to try and shoot him down.

I think the idea failed, but low and behold, last year watching Macross Zero I saw the EXACT manouvor that I wanted to pull off.

Cool, that's all I could think.

Fell free to post your thoughts!

6 years for this place already? I've only been here for 2 and that seems like an eternity ago when I first signed up. I still remember working on my first character, and going through the 'hill with people like Celebmacil.

sorry, started feeling nostalgic

HAPPY B-DAY MRC!!!!!

Like slimy mushrooms it thrives in it's angst! *Shakes his fist in a passionate guts pose* "Yeeeeeah!"

I have lots of good memories from this place. But lucky for you guys typing is troublesome so I won't do that (and you don't have to read stuff that makes you bored). =)

BTW I noticed we now have a new look. Looks nice I think. Though I have one little question: 'Where will the announcements be posted?'. I might have just missed it but I don't think I saw any suitable space on the 'log-in' screen. Has that concept been scrapped perhaps?

OH! One more thing. I think it would be appropriate to thank everyone that has contributed and devoted there energy to this ... eh... project? Anyway... that means all those GMs and staff persons and founders etc. etc. Thank you for bringing us lowly players a wonderful place to roleplay!

/Mr.F - May there be 6 more years of RPing on the MRC

OMG! So CC3 399

I've just gone back through my older posts and I've realised how much I've butchered character concepts and the like

This is definitely not a work-safe colour scheme

I agree with Mister F. Congradulations and thanks are in order! So, thank you, Lanji, Xuric, and anyone whose name I can't think of right now.

I'm too new to the board to have a nastolgic memory from years gone, so I'll just have to tell you my favorite so far: It's got to be Koenshaku's "The Janitor" NPC in "Global's Orphens." The man is, er, well, 'imposing.'

Hmm.... I would like to extend my best regards as well for this occasion, that the MRC has its 6th Anniversary.

This said... Good memories...

Out-of-character, it would have been the development of my PC as a co-pilot AND a bridge officer with Crimson Reaver, which was out of the norm where other players tend to play pilots instead.

The journey was never easy, but after more than a year in MRC, I am glad I went through that journey with other people here and have had the opportunity to get to know some of the folks here. That is my best memory, out-of-character.

In-character, it would be two. First one: Promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade . Alright, I admit my PC trying her best in her job helped in some ways, but I cannot help but wonder what warrants a promotion .

Second one: I enjoyed my time with the Air Bats Squadron during Beginhill. All the way till the second last battle, it was "really" fun flattening all our opponents (we were outnumbered by the way and terrain was somewhat disadvantageous).

A RIO can't really take over her partner's variable fighter, so all I did was like acting as a communications officer, get radar intelligence, scan for enemies and boogies, and this is the best part: "locked on their heads". Let's just say it was a walk through the park all the way until be reached our objective.

And there, we blew the objective, together with two-thirds of our own squadron, by ourselves .

Booyah! ^__^ Getting blown up in pretty explosions is fun! Especially when your pc doesn't die from it.

Happy 6th Anniversary MRC!! *throws some confetti around!*
...*looks around*
*cleans up confetti* XD

Hmmm my best memory would be the Air Bats too. I could've gotten through the Sim with hardly a scratch except for the teensy fact I decided to dive bomb a target that was being bombed by everybody else... ^___^U Sorry 'bout getting us "killed" Anne!

Happy B-day MRC and a big thanks to all the hard working people who brought you to us.

Fave moments? Hmmm...being one of only 3 (besides Hikaru, Max, etc.) pilots to survive the grueling Macross Re-inactment. I think we started with 30 or so pilots! 0_o; Maybe less but still it was alot and I lived. Weehee!

Happy Birthday MRC!

I haven't even been here a full year, so I don't really have any nostalgic moments other than my BeginHill training. Starting off with a round of laser tag was so much fun and it only got better when Halo gave us our final sim. I ended up crippled and had to be ferried out of a T-Salan in my cockpit caspsule by one of my surviving squadmates. It was great being molded into the awesomely awesome rookie I am today. Thanks Halo!

Thanks also to Araruin for helping me bring the Aces here to the MRC and thanks to Lanji for all he's done to help me along behind the scenes as well. Thanks should also go out to the rest of the MRC staff and members. This place wouldn't have been here for me to find if you all weren't around to keep it going!

Hah-ha, Happy b-day MRC.... Hey Lanji that was my character... "Malan Mazza".. the fat guy, that broke the sink..all those years ago. Wow.. I used to play on webtv...

I can hardly believe that you remember that. He was in the Starfighters.... most of the other stuff has faded from memory !

It's cool that someone else remembers my character!! Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was self-GMing... Sorry.. again...

HEhe heh heh

Wait a sec...

Is it just me or does the rest of the site look the same, aside from the general background stuff. The area where I read posts is still blue and the logo is the same as it was before. Is this just me or is that how it's showing up for everyone else? I only ask because I don't use IE, I use Firefox and sometimes pages come up different for some reason.

Quick Note: If your not seeing a 3 tone RED background set for the color of the tables, you might want to see my second post on this thread: Specifically the note to Anne:

http://boards.macrossrpg.com/viewtopic. ... forum=54&5

For short, click on "Edit your Preferences" at the top of the board, and then make sure to choose Generation10 as your theme.

Generation8 doesn't look as well with the background I now have setup, and Generation7... Wow, its a mess with this background.

WreckBMX: I thought you where still around, I just couldn't remember your Username because of the old board system, and that's the only time I ever got to GM Starfighters... And a sink breaking, and water flooding out of a bathroom? It was original as hell, but still Self-GMing...

Oh my goodness, I think I remember that. In fact, I think that was a guy in my squad.

LOL sometimes I miss playing Bob Andrews... he was a lot of fun, and his squad had a lot of "interesting" people in it.

I'm a simple man, and when I saw the new login screen I said aloud, "What the hell is this?" But as for my memories... I remember the weird *** stuff Foxxy would find and be constantly posting, I remember my first sim (okay not exactly since I forget who GMd) in which I transformed to gerwalk, dropping the payload I carried. And I'm proud of being here what, 3 years, and having less posts than people here for months

In-character
The best would be the Chasing Chastity with Crimson Reever. The reasons are: we were both able to explore the civilian side of life in a colony fleet to an extent that wasn’t done before, and I had a great time imagining exactly what that would be. The other main reason is that Crimson Reever stayed firmly within character and within the limitations of his character.
A sub-reason is that the story didn’t go on endlessly. It was sad to see it finish, however I am happy that CRs character continued in other stories and that the events are being referred to in some of the recent threads detailing the current state of affairs in the M15 fleet.

Out-of-character
My largest and biggest memories are how, despite adversary and near death experiences, the MRC has not only survived and continued to chug along as it does, but grown (not just in the sense of more members) as a community in the process. This site is both a testament and a reflection of the sheer dedication, effort and determination of everyone who has been involved in it; no matter how large or small a role they played.

-and-

Through the MRC I feel connected to like-minded individuals around the globe and have developed some friendships from that. How many other places in our daily lives can we interact with people from all four corners of the Earth and have lots of fun in the process?

YAY! Happay Birthday MRC!

I was first frightened as I saw the new login screen. My mind went blank and I said nothing else then "WTF" until I logged in and found out it was a celebration for MRC who has been activ for six years!

I said it before and I won't hesitate to say it again.
Happy birthday MRC!
And let's not forget all GM's, and all players making the MRC the best Macross RPG site ever.

Cheers

Wow. Six years. To think that I'm one of the old men and I've only been here three years.

My favorite moments...I loved fighting five Monsters single-handedly on the Hill. I loved being able to create the Unicorns. I'm happy to see the MRC survive yet another shakeup this year.

WOO HOO!! Six Years! And I've been here like six weeks!

Favorite memory so far has been embarassing myself in the Global's Orphins story after another player (Roy/Shin) made a funny face at me (Allison).

Hard to explain, you had to be there . . . and understand my odd sense of humor!

My gratitude goes out to Lanji and all of the others working in front of and behind the scenes to keep this community running. It has weathered tough times, even in my brief tenure as a member, but always seems to find a way to right itself, the stories keep chugging along. Here's to the future of the MRC!
