They did. That is a plot point in the movie. The villain is angry at Lady M for repeatedly blocking the right to legally construct and use Sentient AIs and Androids. That blocking prevented them from being deployed when his homeworld was under siege. As a result, its population was exterminated when they could have otherwise been saved. So, he is out to get Lady M, and since the Delta crew works for said Lady...

And #3: Battle Astraea - That's Macross 21!!! As in Macross Galaxy right? And it completely looks like an armored and sound force version of a full on Macross Battle Ship!

It has the 21 on the flight deck. It is, or at least was, Macross Galaxy. It has since been fused with Protoculture Tech. It is covered in the same mechanisms as the ruins in 'Macross 30'.
