Re: From the distant past...

Well there's more, but "obsessive interest in swords" is hardly unique, and the rest feels like bragging. Mostly I was glad to see this place still up and running.

Re: From the distant past...

Man, that's a complicated question. I have four kids now. Amazingly there are in fact people out there whose type is apparently Loud With Strong Opinions.

The (LOVELY) thing about this job is that my work schedule alternates between spending three weeks a month traveling for classes, and being a wreck (see my last post), and spending a month at home, twiddling my thumbs at work doing nothing and stressing because of the amount of nothing I am doing ...

Because of time commitments elsewhere and the difficulty of maintaining a posting schedule in the face of regular travel, I am once more going on hiatus. I do not know how long this will last, or if I will in fact be back.

Traveling for next three weeks. I'll have the Transformer with me, but that's no guarantee of post quality.

I'd make a couple substitutions - Atlas for A, Goddard for G, Redstone for R, Saturn for S... but I think my kids would still recognize 2/3 of these.

Yeah, had I had the time, I'd probably just have mailed you a CD. Glad to know they got through.

Since my A&M E-mail finally died this last weekend, did you get them? I didn't get a response before they finally chopped it off.

Jamestown settlement and Yorktown battlefield. Some water damage to Stanley because today couldn't make up its mind weather-wise.

Another weeklong trip starting tomorrow. I'll try to bring all my threads to current before I leave, in case I have posting issues while I'm gone. Good news is that Araruin's Flat Stanley request doesn't get an SR-71 out of it... they get an A-12. And if you know the difference between the two ...

I'm taking advantage of the free national park weekend to take some pictures either at Jamestown or Richmond National Battlefield. I plan on taking it with me next week on a trip to Huntsville, Alabama. Hopefully they'll accept a Saturn V as a reasonable delay. You said end of month, but there's ...

I actually have a big ol' stack of Flat Stanley pics we did for my nephew. I don't know if that counts as cheating, but even so, feel free to send it.

Not the only one in that boat. Handle what you have to and post what, and when, you can.

First, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. It leaves you feeling kind of lost at sea. Take whatever time you need.

Second, unless you get into multi-month absences or on-again, off-again been-here-since-2000-in-vague-spurts performance, I expect you're pretty safe here. I doubt anyone's going ...

Just so we're all clear (lokei, Cobalt, Frange, inix, mostly), I have NOT abandoned the MRC. I'm having ISP issues; Verizon cannot seem to understand my frustration that "Monday morning" does not mean "afternoon of next Tuesday." As such, I'm piggybacking both off whatever wireless I can find, and ...

In Virginia; piggybacking off neighbor's wireless until own is up and running (Friday) off borrowed computer until own is set up (ETA unknown, probably Friday). In other words, still alive, posting is within sight, but not quite there yet.

Cobalt, go ahead and start a thread over on Joining, put everything in when you get a chance. I'll review it hopefully by week's end. I'm fine with the Chinese servant, especially since it gives me someone to blame any time there's something unusual that happens - she's a witch, burn her.
