Rail Transit Map of LV-426: the areas surrounding the Terraforming Tower. Rail lines are being rapidly constructed as they are immediately needed to shuttle materials and personnel around the base and in preparation for the arrival of the first civilians in the base complex.

By and large, the system is elevated on either raised hard-packed ground or on an elevated trackway that allows for the movement of people and non-rail vehicles underneath the network.

At present, users of the system do not need to pay. However, once the civilians arrive, ticket wickets and automated ticket purchasing machines will be activated. The system used is distance travelled and not limited to zones.

Train Classes

To keep things easy there are only two types:

  • Local: stops at every station along the line. On average there is one every 10 minutes.
  • Express: stops at only the major stations along the line. On average there is one every 15 minutes.
    • Note that the busier lines (Red and Purple) have twice the number of passengers - thus the wait between trains is half those mentioned.

Major Stations

Line 1

  • Pit - site of the Sector 7 Space Pirates concealed ship. Currently an excavation site and rapidly growing UN_Intelligence facility.
  • Bayside - Perfect blend of plateau, low-hills and desert sun. Transfer station for those heading to the spaceport or to the tower. Seen as a 'Riviera' of the colony. Rapidly expanding community of restuarants, tea houses and love hotels.
  • Canyon - Prime stop for geologists wishing to further study the planet. The narrowness of the canyons in this section also allow for good sightseeing somewhat on par with the Grand Canyon on Earth.
  • Ike - Next to the only pond on the entire planet! Ike (I-kay) is Japanese for pond. #1 choice for UNG personnel after work. Come see the ducks! Also has direct access to the Terraforming Tower.
  • Tower - Prime station in the entire transportation network. Direct access to the Terraforming Tower.
  • Terminal - Last station on the red line. Connects to Line 2 and the military airbase in the Valley of the Terraforming Tower.

Line 2

  • Mine - Prime and initial ore mine for the entire colony.
  • Bluff - transfer to Line 3. Access to a fantastic bluff on the North and the farmland of the valley in the other directions.
  • Tower - see Line 1
  • New Tower - direct access to the terraforming tower.
  • Terminal - see Line 1
  • Notre Damme - transfer to line 6. Canyon has a cathedral like arch and slight overhang.
  • Fish - site of a UNG Biological instillation. Studying the remains of a giant petrified water going mammal from the planet's past before it turned into a giant desert.

Line 3

  • Bluff - see Line 2
  • Tower - see Line 1
  • Hell's Gate - spectacular but brief narrow gap in the canyon's to the Northeast of the Terraforming Tower.
  • Roche - small mine for rare metals.
  • West and East Paris - bedroom community for the valley. In a small valley that has recently been planted with rapid growing trees. Considered the coolest spot on the entire planet. Site of the initial civilian colonization.
  • Glacier - access to the CO2/NO mines in the spectacular glacier.

Line 4

  • Bayside - see line 1.
  • LZ - local station. Site of the Death Angels first LZ on the planet. Grew into a Marine Base before it was transfered to the Koya area. Facilities have been taken over by Field Scientists studying the strange energy that eminates from the Protoculture Science Vessel buried underneath the Valley of the Terraforming Tower.
  • Plateau Entrance - site of the connection between Lines 4 and 5. Line 5 takes advantage of the relatively low height of the plateau in this area and uses it to join the sections of the transport system that are at the bottom and top of the plateau with a direct transfer station.
  • Spaceport - prime military and civilian access and egress point to the colony. It and it's two substations (Cargo 1 and Cargo 2) have experienced a vast amount of growth in a short period of time.
