Character Background:

Christopher Thomas Anderson was born in your average suburb in Macross city. His father Jerry was a mechanic, and a good father. His mother Rebecca was a hard working waitress at the time. Life wasn’t luxurious, but there was love, however it was not to last. The financial strain was too great and though Jerry and Rebecca worked as hard as they could they couldn’t earn enough money to live at the comfort level Rebecca wanted for her child. She divorced Jerry, and went back to school struggling to get a better life for her son. Rebecca’s parents gave as much as they could to help her through school, but sadly their lives were taken when a burglary went wrong. The criminal shot Rebecca’s parents and fled. He was never caught.

By the time Chris was in school his mother had graduated from college, using her parents life insurance money, and inheritance to put her through the rest of the way. She immediately found a job in marketing, and began to earn a substantial amount of money. She lavished Chris as much as herself, and he always had the newest coolest stuff, but he didn’t really care. His happiest moments were when he visited his father, and they worked on cars together.

One night while Rebecca was at a dinner party for some clients she met a doctor by the name of Robert Smith Kinsington. He was handsome, and they hit it off well. Soon they were engaged and Chris had a new family.

He accepted his new family as well as he could and though they didn’t always get along the family members loved each other.

So it was that Chris led a normal life until his 16th birthday. His father had teamed up with his parents and they had bought him an expensive sports car. His father had added a few special performance parts to make it even better. He loved his car, and spent almost every weekend with his father polishing this, or tuning that, then that night he would go out and find other street racers to challenge. Few people could keep up with his car, and those that could, didn’t usually have the reflexes to avoid crashing. He lost some of the time, but nobody who races is ever undefeated, especially if they race for more than a short time.

It was around this time that the choir teacher at Chris’s school discovered that he had a great singing voice. Chris had always sung along with the radio and in the shower, he had never really thought much about singing in front of others. The Teacher convinced him to join the choir and he was soon in the jazz choir. The more he sang the more he wanted to sing. He joined a little garage band and began singing at special events. The band was like a dysfunctional family, and when they weren’t singing they would go out and race. Chris helped each member tune up their car, and they would give him a portion of whatever money they won racing.

He lived the life that everyone at school envied. He was rich, had a good car, was in a band, and had several girls wanting to go out with him at any time, but he wasn’t satisfied with that kid of life. He wanted a more honest life. One where his friends were true friends, not just trying to get his family’s money. His father offered as much support as he could, and Lucy said that he should start a journal or get a pen pal like the one she had, but he needed something else.

He told his family he didn’t want anymore hand outs, and told them that he would support himself. His mother tried to persuade him to reconsider but he wouldn’t listen to anything she said until she accepted that her rich life style wasn’t for him. His popularity diminished, but his band stuck by him, and the friends that he made after that were more loyal and liked him for who he was. He formed a team of local racers with his friends, and a few other skilled local racers, and they began racing in a much more organized manor. Crashes diminished, and soon other teams came calling. He lost a few battles with more skilled racers, but he was having a great time. After a while he began to wonder if this was how he was going to spend his life. Racing was fun but there was more to life, and he hadn’t done much. Then one day while he was at a local Arcade playing a flight sim one of his friends told him he should be a pilot. He had the reflexes, and knew how to get the most out of vehicles, and so he decided to enlist. He drove over to UN Spacy and signed up.
