Frightening Movie Suggestions

Postby InfernosCaress » Tue Oct 31, 2017 5:04 pm

It is Halloween, which means that it is time for scary movies!

I need suggestions for frightening movies. For instance, one year I watched Glitter and Crossroads (the 2002 movie). Another year I watched the entire Twilight Saga straight. So, what movies do you consider to be terrifying(ly bad) to watch?

Your last Presidential election was pretty scary. Try that. It follows the tradition of vilifying the victim, the monster is the hero and naturally the black guy dies.

There was a movie released a few years ago called, "It follows..", that one was a little scary.

Man, where I worked, the only thing on the break room television was coverage of the election. And my job, I had to be there four hours before I could start working. I got paid to spend half of every day watching that crap.

I have not seen It Follows. I shall add it to the list to watch.

It is not that kind of scary. It the kind that is scary to know that you will have to endure watching it. The terri-bad movies.

Recently I watched "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (original) on the movie specialty channel. It was much, MUCH better than I thought it would be. It may be more than 40 years old, but... wow!
(Long story short, because the Japanese title is nothing like the English one, I didn't know I was watching it until afterwards. If I had known the English title, I probably wouldn't have watched it).

Around the same time they had "The Thing" (1982), and its prequel "The Thing" (2011). Both of them are great. I found the prequel a little bit more involving, but if you haven't seen them, watch them in the production order.

No, man, that is the wrong kind of scary. I am looking for the horrible, do-anything-to-avoid-watching movies.

that aside, I saw The Thing for the first time about two months ago. The Kurt Russell version.

In that case you could force yourself to sit through the early Godzilla movies. I have recently purchased the Shin Godzilla movie and it was better than I expected. They even left it hanging for a sequel. On the disc, there was previews for the Class On Titan movies. I'm looking forward to reading them soon.

Ahh... OK, anything directed by Michael Bay.

Recently, "Thermae Romae" and its sequel have been showing up far often then I'd like on the local movie specialty channels. I can't quite lay a finger on it (I'd like to say its Asian actors in 'white face', but that's not quite it). So, they're currently my #1 do-anything-to-avoid-watching films.
